The gloating was super fun last night but now Democrats have two tasks - taking actions to convince voters they are actually addressing affordability, and more quietly but critically, putting a permanent end to Trump's lawlessness and enforcing real accountability.

It is also critical for center left Dems to ruthlessly seize the narrative. Our victory was secured by moderates in deep red territory. Progressive candidates, especially AES (whom I am thrilled to have in the Senate, to be clear) clearly underperformed their moderate peers. You have Cooper and Ossoff putting up double digit numbers in the deep south and not a single example of a progressive overperforming the national environment. Lydia Polgreen in the NYT this morning is already claiming that AES is a political genius for winning Michigan by just under 6 in a D+13 tsunami. We cannot out of agreeableness allow that narrative to take root.

Good Riddance to the MAGA Republican Party.

I don't want the Democrats to *solely* focus on investigations and reprisals. But I want those to be on the agenda for the new Congress. Bring some accountability to the blatant lawlessness and corruption in the White House.
