Really enjoyed this. I know Matt you've said before you've been annoyed at the difficulty in lining up a new podcast gig before Bad Takes materialised, and then obviously that went away sadly but I think you and Brian doing regular newsy podcasts would be great. I would even pay an extra subscription for it, if it was frequent enough.

is there a story with bad takes? I thought that show was good and I listened to every episode.

Really made me happy this morning to pull up my podcast feed and find this episode unexpectedly in it.

This was really enjoyable, thank you! But, Matt, it would really be good to hire an audio consultant to try to fix whatever is going on with your audio. You mentioned in a previous reply you have a good mic but you thought you needed to speak closer to it- but the sound is just consistently rough. Not sure if it’s the mic, the computer, the audio, or what, but it’s nowhere near typical podcast sound quality. Again, love it when you podcast and hope you do it more often!

This is a fantastic episode, even while it was spur-of-the-moment and off-the-cuff.

Matt and Brian should strongly consider doing this weekly or at least monthly. Sometimes one of you could be joined by another guest (Klein? Barro? Chait?). But this refreshing bit of candor and raw analysis is the necessary opportunity to discuss the latest state of America. We all are preparing for a, correctly put, “white-knuckle” year of so much gravity for the country.

Thank you both so much.

Best MY podcast content since Bad Takes...make this a regular thing! (and maybe that will help matt afford a better mic)

This was very good, thanks guys!

Also I wondered if maybe the bulk of the non-Trump candidates are legitimately hoping some externality removes him from the board (eg, California plus a handful of other states decide the 14th amendment disqualifies him from the primary)
