I wonder if Jackson would have gotten more attention from non-Mainers if it was he instead of Platner that had challenged Mills from the start for the Senate, instead of being one of too many Democrats trying to be governor. Mills was always a weak candidate that was tarred as being part of the establishment, and the precise non-establishmentarian to take her on might have been less important.

Thank you very much for answering my question! I suppose what I see interesting about Rock Creek Park as an outsider is that it seems like it's a very large park that still has a little bit of recreation for everyone. Given that you're not much of an outdoorsy person, it doesn't surprise me that you'd be into the parts like the zoo or the tennis courts. But it also seems to at the same time serve those who do want a more wilderness feeling while still being convenient to the metro. And I've been thinking that that balance could become increasingly important in a world where for various reasons we might not want as many people built out sparsely into wilderness areas.

ON Data Centers: Did I hear, "Tax Abatments?" I guess there is an issue of how to value a data center for property tax purposes and that migh need to be sorted out in the local approval process, but it woud seem unnecessaril self defeeting for a propective center to seek an especialy favorable treatment. And more if the agreemens are not transparent.

Surely the project sponsers and their consultants have acquired expertise in how to avoid bad regulation that will just make the outcome a disaster.

Re what to do on immigration: process stuff faster! There is currently a 24 month backlog for spousal green card processing, getting slower at >1month/month. Despite being a bigger deal for legal immigrants than any fantasy about abolishing ICE, this (very effective) destruction of the system has attracted zero attention from Ds

As someone who has been vacationing in Maine the last few weeks, the ratio of Collins to Jackson TV ads I’ve seen has been about 40-1 in favor of Collins. Maybe I’m being microtargeted in a weird way but it is a very different dynamic to how I remember the 2020 race that summer.
