We tripled last year's GiveDirectly fundraising number, rounding $1 million in total support for some of the poorest people in the world
Hope the whole SB team has a wonderful holiday!
Thanks! You too
Slow Boring brings out the best in us. Thank you Kate and Matt.
If instead of giving the villagers money, what if we buy them slow boring merchandise? Grows the brand for next year’s fundraiser.
"buy them slow boring merchandise"
I like the way you're thinking.
Slow Boring subscribers were able to donate a million dollars to African villagers.
So, if we give the villagers Slow Boring subscriptions, then they'll be able to donate one million dollars to themselves.
What if we teach the Rwandan villagers about zoning reform?
I was going to jokingly suggest that Kate failed to reveal that the "matching" amount was actually computed based on the MSRP of donated Slow Boring logo ball caps! :-D
But what would the villagers do with all of their Super Bowl Champion Buffalo Bills gear?
Thanks to the SB team for running this! It means a lot to me
Based on your recommendation last year, I've been including GiveDirectly in my list of charities to which I assign grants from my Donor-Advised Fund.
$350 is a very impressive average donation. (I am curious about the median and/or the total number of donors.)
