The housing market is way out of whack

With mortgage rates above 7 percent and stocks over-performing, some Americans are rethinking their investments. Meanwhile, Portland is having a rent mismatch.

Mortgage rates rose above 7 percent for the first time since the beginning of 2025, with the average rate on a 30-year home mortgage hitting 7.03 percent on Thursday, according to data from Freddie Mac.
