I launched this blog on November 13, 2020, with high hopes but no real way of knowing whether or not it was going to work out. I’m thrilled to say that it really, really has. We’ve published well over 200 stories, myriad discussion threads, dozens of audio posts, and attracted over 12,000 paying members.
I’ve been able to expand the team and improve the product with Kate Crawford editing the posts and running the business side, Claire Cantrell doing the copy edits, and first Marc Novicoff and now Milan Singh working as researchers.
But as those of you who follow the arcana of media gossip may know, our revenue is projected to grow considerably in our second year.1 With more money coming in this year, we’re planning to pay more out in ways that will make this community stronger.
