Position Overview
This is a full-time, primarily in-person position based in our downtown Washington, DC office, with some remote work possible. Start date: August 1, 2025 (flexible)
Responsibilities
Copy edit and schedule newsletters
Moderate community comment sections
Create charts and graphics to accompany articles
Research potential newsletter topics
Draft and schedule podcast show notes and episode releases
Respond to customer service inquiries
Attend and document editorial meetings
Provide general administrative support
Qualifications
Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of American politics and policy issues
Experience copy editing
Strong attention to detail
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Familiarity with Slow Boring’s work
Location & Schedule
Downtown Washington, DC
Flexible schedule with partial remote work possible
In-person attendance required for meetings and certain work functions
Compensation & Benefits
$55,000 annual salary

This is primarily a support role, not a writing position. Published work is not guaranteed, but you'll have opportunities to pitch ideas and will receive guidance and feedback on your work if you’re interested in developing your writing skills.
